Offered are 6 vintage cup and saucer sets crafted in the USA by Homer Laughlin in the Shakespeare Country Pattern from their Stratwood Collection. This discontinued and collectible pattern features blue blackberry vines with leaves and berries. I have seen others date this pattern to the 1940s and 1950s but I could not confirm that in my own research.
These classy pieces (earthenware?) are in good vintage condition with no cracks, repairs, stains, crazing, or discolorations. I saw some very light scratch marks on the saucers, but only visible when turned to the light just so, and little bottom wear.
They look like they will hold about 8 oz. of coffee or tea and are 2 5/8 in. tall and 3.75 in. diameter. The saucer measures 6 in. diameter and about 1 in. tall.
This set would work well in a mix-and-match set (especially when combined with solid blue pieces) or could be added to an in the works Shakespeare Country Collection.
